We are looking for an AWS Data Engineer to create and manage data extraction, transformation, and loading processes from various data sources, implementing technical solutions for these tasks, as well as developing and exposing APIs to retrieve and provide access to the processed data. Experience and certifications using the AWS Stack for these purposes are mandatory requirements. Candidates must have proven experience in this field, as well as a track record of working with various tools related to these topics.
Job Requirements
We are looking for a Technician, Civil Engineer, Construction Engineer, IT Specialist, or Computer Science Professional with practical and demonstrable experience in AWS Data Engineer roles and Amazon certifications. Specifically, the candidate must have expertise in:
The use of the AWS Solutions Stack for data engineering processes such as Snowflake, AWS Lambda, AWS Athena, AWS Step Functions, Amazon Redshift, Amazon S3, Amazon RDS, and AWS Glue.
The tools mentioned above are involved in the processes for performing the Extract, Transform, and Load steps from the outset. You will be required to manage data integration tools connected to data sources and data warehouses. Therefore, part of your responsibilities will include integrating existing systems with ETL tools or similar solutions, managing operations, and implementing an interface to make the data usable.
Our ideal candidate must be knowledgeable in database engineering. To understand data storage requirements and design the data warehouse architecture, a Data Engineer must have experience with SQL/NoSQL databases and data mapping. Practical knowledge of AWS and its native cloud stack for these purposes is highly valued.
Whenever a Data Engineer is involved in data modeling, mapping, and formatting, experience in data analysis is required. Therefore, proficiency in this discipline is also an essential requirement. For this reason, knowledge of methodologies or frameworks such as DAMA 2 or similar ones is highly valued.
You must have knowledge of scripting languages. If you work with large datasets and complex pipelines, you will need some automation. ETL developers can use scripts to automate small parts of the process. The most popular scripting languages for this role are Bash, Python, NodeJS, and Perl.
Experience in software engineering is highly valued. Experience with programming languages such as C++ or Java—which are the most commonly used for these tasks—is required. Node.js may also be used for data visualization tools on mobile devices or for API exposure.
Data processing systems handle large volumes of data and consist of multiple components. As such, you will be responsible for ensuring the system operates properly, which requires strong analytical thinking and the ability to solve both technical and practical problems.
As part of our Gender Gap 0 Policy, it’s a plus if you’re a woman, since we want to increase the number of female engineers at our company. If you also have experience working in multidisciplinary teams, that’s a huge plus for us.
We accept applicants from other cities across the country, preferably in the southern region. In any case, applicants must reside in Chile. This requirement is in place to verify applicants’ eligibility and ensure they are a good fit for the existing team.
