Javier Urrutia
Chief Executive Officer & Founder
I consider myself an enthusiastic developer and lifelong researcher in the field of software development. Tired of certain unproductive and misguided practices in the world of information technology, I decided, along with several colleagues, to establish a local hub for the ongoing study of these topics.
We focus on advising a wide range of companies and boards of directors on understanding the nature of software, its ongoing evolution, its complexities, governance relationships, and the agile and modern development of technology. In particular, we focus on the managerial and technical aspects of designing and building modern, useful software. To this end, we have established a community dedicated to ongoing study and research.
I hold a degree in Computer Engineering from the Universidad Austral de Chile. Throughout my career, I have served in roles such as Technology Strategy Advisor, CTO, IT Department Manager, and Development Manager, overseeing complex IT projects and managing teams of consultants. For over 15 years, I have worked on projects for leading companies in Chile, as well as in Argentina, Brazil, and Mexico.
As the director of a private consulting firm and research center, I firmly believe that both academia and the private sector share a common ground for the purposeful creation of new businesses.
I love to continuously research and learn, which is why I hold a “Master’s in Innovation” (C) from the Adolfo Ibáñez University Business School and am currently pursuing a “Master’s in Applied Philosophy” from the Faculty of Philosophy and Humanities at the University of the Andes.
